Ampeg V5

Hello! I have an Ampeg V5 (later the SVT-100) and I want to get a lot more volume out of it. I like the tone, but I just need it to be much louder. Does anyone know if it's possible to give it, say, an extra 200 watts of power?

While probably not impossible, mods like this just aren't realistic. If you could find someone to do it, you could probably buy an SVT for less than what it would cost. I'd suggest confirming yours is working at its best and then adding either a second cab or using a single larger cab. (610/810)
Adding a second 410-HEN cab should give you much more volume.

My V5 played through an 8 Ohm Ampeg V4 4x12 bass cab gets ridiculously loud and "grindy". Do you use the low boost switch?

thanks for the advice, guys. I have a 410-HEN now. I've been thinking about adding a 2x15. I guess I'll start shopping around!
