Ok, so what would be a better option for me money/weight wise? I had a 15" Peavey combo that I sold primarily because it was far too heavy.
Paul - That's why I mentioned a single 12 really. Anything more than that and I can't see it being transportable on the Tube at all really.
Also, a friend of mine recommended Barefaced cabs. Anyone have any experience with them?
Sounds like a dolly(w/a couple bungee straps) would have made a wise choice in your situation.
I'm in London too and i have a barefaced compact (1x15) with a Markbass LM3, really light, small and easy to get around plus it sounds great. I never need to use any more cabs than that as bigger venues have PA support so it's a great rig.
Go second hand and you could get that sort of thing for about £700.
