I'll be honest, the Transboost is an amazing clean boost, an amazing light OD, capable of more OD, an amazing unclean boost. It has become an always on for me.

And, also, follow @boomertech 's settings recommendations as a starting point. Clipping at 0, Drive to just add a bit of hair, output to taste. Then, you take it from there.

This thread now has three DIY circuits….

The TransBoost. The only one that has been built so far (that I am aware of).

The MOSFET/Transformer boost circuit that recnsci contributed in post #30 on page two.

And the latest is the iBUFF DI circuit. JohnK just made a PCB layout for those that want to etch their own boards.

I have been very good with removing old revisions of these circuits, so if you pull a schematic from one of my posts then it is very likely the latest revision that I worked on.

I would certainly be interested in a simple, passive HPF using an inexpensive transformer. Okay, full disclosure, I know there are several references to HPFs in this thread, but I haven't read the entire thread. It's a bit much for me to digest.

This thread is about a dirt light to medium gain dirt pedal. A pretty great one, actually. But NOT an HPF.

I have one of these Transboost pedals and it’s amazing. But sometimes the signal cuts out and there’s only noise, like static tv. I did some troubleshooting and I narrowed it down to the dc 9V input jack where I can replicate the problem by slightly rotating dc cable. If the dc jack has to be replaced, it’s tucked under the internal board which I assume is fastened by knobs on the pots and can be removed by removing the knobs first? Anyone know what is the exact type of dc input jack?

Or is the dc jack 2.5 mm wide and I have a wrong dc cable (2.1 mm) inserted? It’s a tight fit so I guess this is not the case.

Any help much appreciated.

Can anyone tell me about the Clip knob? I feel like the middle range of travel it changes eq or emphasis or something.

The TY-250P is most of the time not available. Is the TY-145P an alternative? What would have to be changed for the TY-145P to work?
