An OMG NBD & I Have Questions (help plz)!

Greetings all! This came up for sale and I knew that I had to have it. Before I ask my questions (which I could use some help with), a few initial impressions about thus beauty! She's stunning IMHO and obviously quite unique. Neck is dead-straight, action VERY low. She balances and sounds amazing. She's 9 lbs on the dime according to my postal scale.

Now for a couple questions...
1 - I know that this factory finish is uber-rare. Could only find one or possibly two others out there. Anyone have any ides how many were made and what the up-charge was for this option?

2 - All the other S1000 / S70 models I've seen have synthetic fretboards. This one appears to have a rosewood board on it. Seems odd, but guessing that may have been an option too? Perhaps this one a custom order or a factory bass for a show (like NAMM, etc)?

3 - All the others I've seen have 3 knobs (vol/bal/tone), however, this one has vol, balance and then a 2 band stack (treb/bass). Guessing that a previous owner may have upgraded it. I don't recognize the preamp (see pics). Hoping that it's possibly a Status preamp (but I'm doubtful).

Oh man, I've wanted one of those for 25 years! Four strings aren't on the GAS list anymore, but this and a Kubicki X-Factor I would most certainly acquire if given the right timing and opportunity! Awesome finish on that one, and the OHSC!! What a great score!

Not sure if this is the same bass, the listing was on Reverb three years ago from a seller in Spain.

1990 Washburn Status Series 1000 S-70 (one of a kind!) | Reverb

It claims it's unique - the finish is actually done with gold or other metal leaf, and was done as a factory original by the Gildaxe company https://www.gildaxe.com/examples

The listing also notes the rosewood fingerboard vs. the "ebonized" composite fingerboard they usually came with.

From what I can see, the preamps on these actually came from Status in England as part of the licensing deal, so they're identical to those on original Status basses.

Man, thanks so much for doing the digging! That link is literally for my bass that I just acquired, but from when somebody else sold it 3 years ago out of Spain. I compared the finish, etc on mine with that one and confirmed, that's it. Crazy!

Anyway, thank you again. This bass just keeps getting more interesting. It has original stuff that literally no other S70 / S1000 has. Had to be a reason, but can only theorize that it was for Washburn to showcase their skills to Status or for a NAMM like show, or something like that.
