OK, so I am in need of a delay and analogue is preferred. I don't need too many bells and whistles, but I do like the idea of a feedback control. And it must work for both guitar and bass. And under $150? What's out there?

Analogue Delay Choices

I like the MXR Carbon Copy. Although it doesn't have a dedicated feedback control, it works FANTASTICALLY for guitar, bass, voice and keys. It costs about $152, after taxes, and it has three knobs. Minimal, analog, sparkly green, and a very solid construction. I never really had a great interest in delays before trying one (except for the Ibanez AD-99, which I found to be decent, but not mesmerizing), and I have no burning desire to get another one. Plus, it can be found in a wide assortment of guitar shops.
Oh, lol, and I would like to be able to control the number of repeats (if possible). Does anyone make a feedback control and repeats control in one unit?
+1. No bells or whistles, but for the money I haven't heard an analog delay that sounds better. You can get more features with great analog sound if you're willing to blow a bundle on a boutique pedal (eg. Dr. Scientist's Sunny Day Delay), but for $150 you can't go wrong with the Carbon Copy. It just sounds good.

I have the carbon copy and find it very hard to use. It's incredibly sensitive and often gets feedback runaway. For the type of repeats I wanted it to do, it doesn't do them. Every GC has them. I suggest you try one out. It's a sturdy, well constructed pedal, just not what I wanted. It may work just right for you.
I did not know that, although it makes sense. I just wanted to control the number of repeats and make sure it can go into runaway feedback.
I'll check out the Carbon Copy and the Memory Boy this weekend. Anyone A/B'd them?
I've diddled w/a CC; it is IMO pretty sensitive, which is great if you want it to go all crazy easily... I'll also suggest checking out any old, obscure digital delay that you might find- I get some great SO from an Ibanez Soundtank EM-5, a Digitech PDS-1002, a DOD FX-91 & a Subdecay Proto Echobox- all quite digital but very analog-sounding.
