almost new bass day. almost? Harley Benton JP-55OP. was pretty excited to get this bass and get it set up. took much longer to get than my other two HB's. was disappointed in that and then, well, take a look at the pictures and you'll know why i say "Almost New Bass Day" Never even got all the packaging and bubble wrap off before realizing the headstock was broken OFF:

oh, i completely understand the time difference. mostly upset that i didn't get a better response from the first two pictures i sent last night of the bass, still in it's packaging, with the headstock broken off. fully expected a "sorry for your trouble, we will be shipping a new bass out" response this morning, instead of the "take a picture of every square centimeter of all boxes, packing materials, and the bass" response i got.

well,
This sucks and I hope you can get it sorted quickly.

It doesn't look like the packaging has suffered much stress during transport... was it structural failure under string tension?!?

I would be. Perhaps you're still in shock? I would be.

i am a bit miffed. but what can i do? i wait. and i look at the firewood on my table in the box (just the neck) and wonder what might have been.

I did notice there was no EPS block where the strap holder is on the bottom of the bass. my guess? someone dropped it vertically out of a truck and the impact caused it to break. but that's just a guess. i am not a structural engineer. there was some damage to the bottom portions of the inside box and some denting in the same area of the Thomann outer box. but who knows when that happened. i am just praying i don't to be the pickle in the middle of a Thomann/UPS pissing match.

First, they are German and respond differently. Don't expect the warm and fuzzy shmuh you'd get from a US company. They are efficient and have no time for that. :D

Second, they likely need all the pictures for their insurance and/or to file a claim with the carrier and 3rd they likely already created a replacement order for you wish is in line to be picked, packed , and shipped.

I really do get all of this. I understand why they need the pics

I get everything you are saying. I do. I understand why they need the pics and sent them at 6:30am. No replacement order in place on their site. Guess I just wait.
