Anchovies -- What's so great about the taste?

Am I the only one who doesn't like anchovies? I mean I think they're awful! I don't get it at all why people love them. Or are there others who share my opinion?

Anchovies ARE tiny basses.

Anchovies are food for people that like their salt with a strong, fishy aftertaste.

One word of wisdom: Never order a half anchovy pizza. The other half will have that stank on it as well; you can't shake it. Ideally, a pizza place has an oven just for the anchovy pizzas.

I do not like anchovies at all and dislike when chefy types say they have a "nutty flavor" and all that nonsense.

However, I love pineapple on pizza. Pineapple on pizza all day! (I'm adding more silly divisiveness to this thread).

Also, anchovies are an ingredient. Certain fish sauces and of course real Caesar salad dressing.
I once had a hand built Caesar salad at a restaurant in Newburgh NY. The waiter was a master.
Used a mortar and pestle to create the dressing in front of us.
