It's obvious why it didn't sell.
He forgot to add "box shaped".
He needs to specify "Ampeg box shaped bass rig for sale - $1200". Yeah, that'll do it.
It might also help if he would specify that it operates on electricity.

Why did that Craigslist poster feel like he needed to go into so much detail on that bass rig he is selling?
Maybe he would have more luck with this wording:
Amplifier for sale!
...or better yet...
Item for sale! (and if he insisted on more detail than that, he could add: "music related item")

Hello. I am interested in your item. I have an item I wish to trade for your item. My only concern is the shipping cost (I'm on Mars). I sure hope your item is an Ampeg bass rig, cuz we currently do not have any of those here, and we would like to have one. As long as it has the word Ampeg on it, it will be fine.

Yeah, I've heard of you guys! This is great!! Now we can get an Ampeg bass rig here. We don't need to know anything else about the amp, as long as it's an Ampeg bass rig. I mean, do you have any idea how long we have been waiting for an ad to come out for an Ampeg bass rig??? Sheesh!! It has taken forever! So now that there's a guy on Craigslist selling an Ampeg bass rig, we have to grab it before someone else does.
The guy selling that Ampeg bass rig did not include enough technical information about the amp in his ad. Next time you e-mail him, please ask the following questions:
1. Does it come with a power cord?
2. Does it have black tolex?
3. Does it have input jacks?
4. Does it have at least one internal speaker?
5. Is it box shaped?
6. Does it have knobs?
7. Does it make a sound?
This is the kind of detailed information people need in order to determine if this rig is what people are looking for. Thanks.

Well, not actually. Half the people in the world fall below the median intelligence. Whether or not half the people fall below average depends on the skewness of the curve. It could be more or less. If the curve is not skewed, then your comment is correct.

Sheesh!! I went back and looked at my post and realized I have forgotten to ask for one critical piece of information. Without this info, there is no way I could possibly figure out if this Ampeg bass rig is what I am looking for. The added question is:
8. If it has an internal speaker, is it round?
9. does it have tubes? R the tubes tied?
