The first concert I ever went to was Andrae Crouch and the Disciples in 1972 or 73. At the time I believe he had either Jaymes Felix or Bill Thedford on bass. He has has a great list of bass players either live or in the studio. Andrae is largely credited with bringing Urban Gospel Music into the modern era, and has been listed as an influence by Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder (who played on a couple of his albums) and Sly and the Family Stone. Of course most modern Urban Gospel artist revere his work. And he had some great bass players. Here's the list, If anyone can recall anyone I missed or contribute It would be appreciated.

Bill Thedford, Wilton Felder, Andrew Gouche, Jaymes Felix, Abe Laborial, David Hungate, David Minor, Leland Sklar, David Shields, Nathan East, Louis Johnson,

Here's some Gouche with Andrae:

And some Laborial:

I got to play bass for Andrae a few times when he would come through the PTL Club. Such an honor to play for this gospel music legend!
