There own opinion, hell yeah! Should they be able to discuss with there "Church" about all these topics,Yes! Should they be able to create sign's and chant perverse crap at greiveing families in order to force a reaction? NO! They even bring there children to these things... All this does is promote, and continue a cycal of hatred, even up here people go "We'll if there child dies, everyone should protest that"... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, why? What does it accomplish? Other than the WBC trying to get paid, what does any of this accomplish?
As far as I can tell, it accomplishes nothing. A bunch of people out wasting their time and making everybody else's life a misery.
That doesn't mean I believe they should be silenced though, far from it. They can believe what they want to believe, and until they take action on those beliefs that break the law, there really isn't much that we can do about it. Take action against them, file harassment charges, call the police, get a restraining order, and imo, conduct your funeral in a private place where you can't be interrupted.
There are a bunch of idiots out there that spoil everything for everyone, no matter what you look at. From driving cars, to religion, to public security, to drug use, a very small minority ruin it for the rest of us, however when you start to infringe on everybody else's rights and freedom in an effort to stop a few idiots, the battle is already lost in my opinion. Give a little liberty to gain a little security, what are a few minor changes here and there? They all add up, they're a slippery slope, and in my opinion they make all the difference.
If somebody protested at a funeral of one of my loved ones, I'd be upset, more than upset I'd likely be infuriated. I don't know what I'd do to be honest, and it amazes me that there are people in the world who can be so cold and heartless. It's easy to advocate free speech from behind a keyboard, and an entirely different scenario to see that side of it when you've trying to grieve for your recently murdered child, but I'd hope that after the fact, when people really think about it, they can see the necessity in allowing the WBC their freedom to protect the freedom of those who really need it, which could be any one of us someday.
The only thing I believe we can really do it try to live a better way, show the members of organisations like WBC that there is a better way to live, make them envious of your happiness and ashamed of their actions, and lead by example. Education works to an extent, but some people just can't be learned, unfortunately, the rest of us suffer for it, but I don't think that's ever been any different, nor will it change.
