One of the kids in the 6th-grade class I taught last week asked if the world was really going to end in 2012. I said, "No. There are a lot of silly, superstitious people out there who are saying that, but it's just as likely that the earth will end tomorrow."

My father retired last year and was doing a long term sub thing a couple months ago for an elementary art teacher who was on maternity leave. One of the kids asked what she was naming her child and my father replied "you can't tell anyone this, but she's naming her child Rumplestiltskin". Oh, to be deadpan is such a beautiful thing.
Now back to your regularly scheduled thread....
