Could be anything.

The E string taper is pretty common isn't it?
to be honest this is the fist time I pay attention to it, i normally look at the bridge side. The E string taper is pretty common isn't it?
you are right, and also i noticed it is tapered twice. One curious thing, though, is the winding length on the E is shorter than the rest the way the taper starts closer to the nut than A and D.
GHS generally packages the E string with a shorter wind than the rest of the strings so they could be Bassics, as they have no silks.
Guitar center restring a used bass? That would make too much sense. Not happening.Where did you get it? If you got it at guitar center, they probably bought it in and restrung it with eb slinkies.
Happens all the time. Cause I do it myself.Guitar center restring a used bass? That would make too much sense. Not happening.
Could be slinkes, could be DR, could be SIT. Lots of strings are generic like that. Fender stock strings that come on the basses look like that too. (Which are not the same as the fender strings we can buy)
