Another Help me Identify Strings

Why are you asking? Do you like the way they sound/feel? Are you trying to find them for other basses?
Do you have a caliper to measure gauge?

They might be Dunlop's. I believe they have that double taper also.

I like the feel and not sure about the tone i get, so i wanted to try a new set,
Also the gauge feels nice but i cant measute them.
Some days i like them and some days i hate them so i got very curious.

Hello, I bought a used bass that came with some strings unknown to me, I couldn't find anything to help me identify, all the balls are golden, there is no silk, and the E string seems to be tapered at the nut side.

echoing others, my first impression was Ernie Ball. I don't know if its the taper, kinda more the "whitish" color of the strings.

Not Ernie Balls, EB would have all the same taper length.

Not Dunlops, they don't taper like those.

I also think that they may be Lakland strings. I took the Lakland strings off my 44-14 a long time ago but I seem to remember having strings that looked like those.

Happens all the time. Cause I do it myself.

Not all guitar centers have you there, I would say that is the exception to the rule. All of the guitar centers near me, orange county and LA California (fountain valley, lake Forrest, cerritos, Lawndale etc) just leave the old strings on there.

Kudos for trying to raise the bar!

Where did you get it? If you got it at guitar center, they probably bought it in and restrung it with eb slinkies.

hi, i got it from a tber, but he didnt know what kind of strings where on the bass.

Just as an FYI, every single string that has three covers (meaning, three different sizes of wire are wound over the core wire) is going to taper off like that at the nut. It's not specific to any company.

The only suggestion I have is to get a micrometer and get the precise gauge of each string. Then once you know that, you can do on-line searches on all four the string gauges together and see what string sets you come up with. At the very least it might narrow it down somewhat.

They could be from a set for baritone guitar the might be less $$ than bass strings and a dif sound also .
