Another pedal order

Take two pedals. Play through them. Reverse their order. Play through them. Which sounds better. Put them in that order. Repeat ad nauseum. There are guides out there, but nothing beats the ear. Some specific pedals act differently in different places. You really should just trial and error your way through.

This way you'll also know why you are putting your pedals in the order you're putting them in and will be less likely to want to swap them around all the time.

Try your comp and tuner first, I usually find my tuner tracks better after a comp and the preamp/DI last. The middle is all your choice, sometimes an envelope sounds better before a fuzz, sometimes a fuzz sounds better before an envelope. Follow SuperTBass's advice and you'll be on the right track.

I'm going
->bass
->volume pedal
->Preamp/DI + distortion
->EQ/Boost
->envelope filter
->overdrive
->compressor
->chorus

What other way should it be done?

First pedalboard. Don't know much.

I would go like this:

>bass
>volume pedal
>comp
>envelope filter
>OD
>chorus
>preamp
> I would either put the EQ/boost last or first, probably first. Depends on which pedal it is specifically.

Its all relative but this is the order I would/do go with. I usually have always put my preamps at the end of my chain. That way I can shape everything going into it. I generally keep filters early in the chain as well as octavers. IMO its good to give them the strongest cleanest signal possible. Time based effects would go after modulation and modulation after dirt.

My current choice is something like this
Bass -> Compressor -> Overdrive -> Envelope -> Chorus -> EQ -> Volume -> DI

But there is no one correct solution or anything you 'should' do. Part of the fun is to move your pedals around, trust your ears, and go with what works for what you want to do.

With me, vol pedal goes last and comp first. My comp really messes up when it gets a reduced signal from either vol pedal or bass vol knob turned down. So I I have the bass flat out and use the vol pedal at the end as the master volume.
So: bass > comp > distortion(s) > modulation (chorus etc) > delay > reverb > vol pedal > amp

I think you will find that both your fuzz and filter will be happier if they are run fuzz->filter rather than the reverse.

For me that was definitely the case.

Since someone mentioned differences between brands of a specific effect, here is what I am running:

bass -> comp (AnalogMan Mini-Bicomp on the Orange Squeezer side) -> Octave (Boss OC-2) -> Overdrive (Darkglass VMT) -> Filter (Moog MF-101 or Mutron III) -> Phase (MXR Phase 90) -> Delay (EHX Memory Boy) -> Ring Mod (Moog Mini-Ring Mod)

So I believe the pedals going on my pedalboard is done. I'm thinking this order:
>TC Electronics Polytune Noir
>Aguilar TLC Compressor
>Darkglass Vintage Microtubes
>MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe
>MXR Bass Envelope Filter
>MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe
>EQD Dispatch Master
>Markbass Mini Boost
>Aguilar Tone Hammer

Anyone see a problem with this order? Or have suggestions on a different order to try?

Thanks in advance.

looks great! that's how i would set it up too, though I have never considered where to place a boost pedal.Makes sens to put it at the end, that way the dynamic-sensitive pedals (compressor, filter, drives) won't be affected, your regular sound just gets louder. You could also use it before a drive pedal to push it for more dirt.
If you plan on using your preamp/DI to send a signal to the soundguys, put it last as you have so they get all your effects
You might want to try the OD and Fuzz in both orders,
OD > Fuzz, Fuzz > OD
Might sound better one way or the other depending on settings, etc

Just picked up a Pedaltrain 2 and a couple pedals on the way. Following will be my tentative order ...
pitchblack tuner -> markbass compressore -> aguilar octamizer -> creation audio labs holy fire overdrive -> markbass chorus flanger -> markbass super booster di
