I played one today and loved it.
It's an epiphone.
I found a picture of one online, but it wasn't anything I didn't already know: "Epiphone 4-String Bass".

Help?

Yup. It's an EBM-4. Thanks everyone!

Now to talk the guy out of keepin' it.
One of the best-sounding and -playing basses I've ever been around. Seriously, it blows most of my other basses outta the water.

I had one of those blingin basses. I bought it off of craigslist with a hardshell case for 100 bux. I sold the bling and kept the case. Mine was a 5 string. The pickups sounded alright and it setup really well but I remember the neck being flimbsy. a very light left hand would make a killer setup turn into fret buzzzzzz and claks. The preamp was a little hissy. neat for 100 bux, but I had no reason to keep it.
