Anthony Jackson is playing here... but!?

Anthony Jackson is playing as a part of a headlining act @ JAZZ UTSAV here in my city but am not into jazz and the entry ticket price is pretty high too :(
so anyway not being a jazz guy at all (never even heard much jazz) you guys think i should really go and watch him play?

Hi.

IMHO there's no point in going to watch someone just for the sake of the name, or something they've done or might do in the future. Even less so if the ticket price is too high to be comfortable.

OTOH if You want to expand your horizons a bit, try to find out the type of jazz that's played on that event and do some research based on that. You might even like it.

I'm not a jazz guy, but there's all sorts of jazz there. From good to downright unlisteneable ;). Just like in every genre.

Regards
Sam

If you really enjoy football (soccer), yet, one of the world's best players was playing near you and you had a chance to see him, would you? Anthony Jackson is one of the world's best electric bass guitarist. Emphasis on the word ONE. Google him and find out why or just search this forum...

:bassist:

Please no flaming war!

Varunkapahi,
not only is Anthony Jackson a genius and an innovator, he is a model in pursuing excellence in itself.
I am certain that his sound alone would be worth the price of the admission.
Please, do go.
If for any reason you won't be happy you went, ***I WILL GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK***.
Feels better?

All the bass :bassist:

If you like the music, go.
Don't waste your money though on a name whose music you dislike.
I personally found all anthony jackson performances I have seen rather educational and inspiring.
Not always did I enjoy the music though and still doubt that those evenings were spent the best they could have.:)

His bass playing and experience are not limited to jazz!!! His genius transcends genres! Whether or not you should check him out live is obviously your decision.

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

its about equal to 12 US$ but its about what i spend in a whole week put together here

seeing Jackson could be a wonderful experience, but if its too much money, forget about it. lots of my favourite artists have come to town and i haven't had the money. once in a while its nice to go see a great show, but if now isn't the right time, don't worry about it.

be sure to check him out online though!
