Double Bass Anton Richter?

There is a bass for sale at a local shop. The sticker inside says "Anton Richter"

I've been searching the internet for Anton Richter but nothing comes up. I'm hoping someone here might know something about it. Its fully carved, and they want $2500 for it.

I liked the sound of it, and it played nice. There was a buzz, but they have a shop there and the guy came out and said they would fix it.

I guess im just hoping someone can give me some info on it.

Cephas, I visited Summerhayes Music in Orem this morning. They told me they are the creators of Anton Richter basses. From what I remember, the wood is from Europe, the hardware is German, and the basses are assembled in Korea. The basses are then shipped in large quantities, which ensures a low price. The bottom of the line is the 304 (I think about $2,200), followed by the 404 (I think about $2,500). Are you sure it's fully carved?

Hey Kids! New to this forum, new to the double. Post alot on another forum quite a bit and been playing the electric bass guitar for quite some time.

Anyhow, gots me a paying gig with a local jazz band. Seems well connected and my kind of people (like to play, don't take themselves too seriously so we have a lot of fun). Want to try my hand at the double for the jazz band and the only thing I can find out here in the armpit of Washington State is (from what I can see of the sticker) an A. Richter 4000. I'm renting it to see if this is the direction I want to go, and I'm not sure if I want to go with a Englehart or Cremona for a first purchase, but I can rent to buy this one. Anyone with any knowledge?
