Any 6 string Fender licensed luthiers out there?

"Fender licensed luthier"....? Does that even exist? There are Fender authorized repair shops of course, but I've never heard of any Fender licensed luthiers??? I doubt very much if Fender would allow any luthier outside their own Custom Shop to build basses and slap Fender logos onto the headstock. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Fender CS could probably do what you want though, if you're willing to accept their insane prices, extreme waiting list and abysmal customer support.

If the Fender logo isn't important it's a different matter of course. Any decent luthier should be able to build you a 6-string "Fender Shaped Object". It won't be cheap, but it shouldn't be anywhere near as expensive as a masterbuilt Fender Custom Shop.

I also doubt if anyone who manufacture Fender licensed parts (like Warmoth) will ever do a Fender-lookalike 6-string. The market is probably far too small to justify the cost of setting it up, and there's also a good chance it won't be within the legal terms of their agreement with Fender.

I've seen that, and actually Rondo is close to me as it's in Mississauga and I'm in Toronto. However I'm looking fora p-bass, not a Jazz.

Yes, I've seen many of their vids on the Public Peace YouTube channel, however I would like it as the classic Fender style, not a variation on a theme.

Yeah, I checked in with Warmoth and Musikraft (as they're Fender licensed) and they only go as far as a 5-string.

No, it doesn't have to say Fender on it.... I'm not exactly picky in who makes it as long as it's good quality and it's of Fender's cuts, so to speak. Warmoth and Musikraft are two that I know of that are Fender licensed, I've been searching for others.

I think that some companies are licenced to produce fender replacement necks (Warmoth and All Parts, for instance). From my experience, this means all of the geometry of the neck is to Fender specifiication, including the headstock shapes. I have never seen one of these with a Fender logo and my guess is that Fender would not permit that. I expect there's a sticker/decal on the neck stating it is licenced by Fender. I have not seen any small shop luthiers turning out Fender licenced replacement necks, but who knows...

IMHO, a 6-string FSO would be too heavy considering the shorter neck/bigger body and the huge headstocks and tuners. I even think the 5-string ones are too big, but that's just me. I would not own a FOS that has more than 4 strings.

No it doesn't have to say Fender on the headstock-the headstock and body shape are just something I want. I think I made that clear in my original post.... I guess I can say also for what I what I want there's a tweak or two off the general design that I'd like though by enlarge I'm looking for a 6 string P of a Fender cut, body and headstock. I wouldn't say I'm being a brand loyalist, again it doesn't need to have the Fender decal on the headstock. Otherwise I'd just save the money and go to Fender. Though since my wants are pretty simple I think, financially it wouldn't make sense to go to Fender and pay tens of thousands for basically a design done many times over. Anyway I think fair to say I've found the answer to my inquiry- body and headstock from a couple of luthiers.
