Any Game of Thrones Fans???

Have you checked out the books? The first season follows very closely to book one. I started listening to the audiobooks while working out. I get lost in the story and realize I have been running or riding for twice the time I wanted. Great series!!!

I love to read call me a bookwarm :P
but I actually didn`t like Game of Thrones book..could`nt get through the first one really...I like series...but i found book...tedious to read...Ive had a feeling that half of it is about : who is bastard of who and who is a cousin of this bastard and who was mother of that cousin`s bastard if you know what i mean :P Although I do understand people who like it :) there is something about the story....that particular book just isn`t my cup of tea :)

Books 2 and 3 were my favorite so far. A Feast for Crows was a little slower, but still good. Book 5, A Dance with Dragons is the second half of a Feast for Crows.

Definitely a LOT of names to keep straight. That's why I like the Family lists in the back of the book for when I get confused on who is who.

SO excited for this to start on Sunday!! I have only seen the tv series, but it really makes me want to pick up the books. I think reading it would almost make it easier for me to learn who is who in the zoo.

Also, the Targaryan girl is really starting to grow on me as a favorite character. And Tyrion and Arya of course.

I finished all the books, and watch the series avidly. It is great although they condense a lot of the scenes into single ones on HBO. I guess they had to so that they can fit a book into 1 season. How about that scene with the red priestess and Davos? that was freaky, my wife did not like it at all since she is pregnant with our first kid :D

I haven't read the books, so I have nothing to compare the series to. I kind of prefer it that way.

Your missing out. There's a lot more than complaining about where it differs. There's an infinite amount of history and back story and insight to how these characters relate to one another and what motivates them. The show does a good job but it's an impossible task. they'd need 3 seasons of hour long shows to do a half assed job of just one of the books. Making it entertaining TV though they are doing a great job.

Great series, my family got me hooked. This season has to a very graphic sex scene in every episode, borderline on porn. Still a great series. Peter Dinklage is really giving an exceptional performance this season.

When I was a nerdy kid, it was beyond my wildest dreams that, one day, a show like GoT would hit the mainstream. Kids used to TEASE me for reading Lord of the Rings, who's got the last laugh now?

On Topic, I wish the pacing of season 2 was a little slower, they're introducing so many new characters but we don't really get a chance to know them. Also I get this feeling that every time a minor character opens his/her mouth and speaks, that they are probably a beloved character from the book with an entire fan following, know what I mean? Every time they introduce someone new I have a moment of frustration, "Is this an important character who I have to try to remember, or just some random sellsword/prostitute?"

Frankly they could drop the Porno in it. It could stand alone without it. Its uncomfortable to watch with your family. Still a great series, almost Lord Of The Rings great, almost, but with hobbit porn.

they could drop some of it I agree, some of the nudity seems to have been forced to fit in the scene, some are super cheezy like Margaery dropping her nightgown and going "do you like me with or without" line, this was an obvious addition and stunk the flow

But don't remove all of it :hiding:
