Any help?

Hey I'm totally new to bass and this may be the complete wrong place to even ask this question, but the below song... at 0:13 (13 seconds) the background heavy bass line starts. Was a bass guitar used to create this?? If not does anyone know how to make a bass line like this? A synthesizer? I'm sorry for being such a noob but I am lol. Any help would be super appreciated! If it's possible to use software to make a bass beat line like this can you tell me?
Here's the vid (bass starts at 0:13)

If you do eventually want to try hardware, the Source Audio C4 and the Panda Audio Future Impact are both well regarded here. Both are "bigger on the inside" - you'll want to hook up to a computer with the app to experience and understand their full power. The interfaces on the stomp boxes are really too limited for the power in the box.

A fellow bassist I recently jammed with showed me one of those. He's the original bassist and songwriter of a band I'm likely joining and he's going to drums. That pedal can cop some monstrous sounds

The last time I had my "full blown" Chapman Grand Stick synth setup, I had the high half going through the hex pickup to a Roland VG-99 and two Roland GR-55s, then I had the bass side going through the C4 and Future Impact in parallel. High Holy Hell, the sheer spread of sounds available! Unreal! So much fun. I just wish my lame Stick playing was up to the level of the equipment setup! lolz

Some lamely-played samples, most of the newer ones (top of list) have synths on.

That's pretty rad! Thanks for posting that
