Any information on Pensa Basses...

They're excellent basses. I played one and it sounded awesome. I prefer the feel of my Geddy Lee bass though. They use Fralin pickups, a custom Pensa 2-band preamp with active/passive switch, and Hipshot hardware (not sure if this is standard, but it was on the one I played). They're very pretty as well. I don't think id spring for one at around $3000 though, especially not after playing the New American Standard Fenders (which I thought sounded just as good, and felt better) Hope this helps.

hello , I m a bass player from Argentina . I own a Pensa jazz , regular size body , alder , rosewood , oil finish , pensa 2 band preamp , made in 1996 . If you are going to have only one good versatile bass , covering both modern and vintage tones a Pensa is an excellent choice . I bought mine used and it was reasonably priced (U$S 1500) , I m very happy . The downside , price , they seem to be very expensive new (average U$S 3000 ). I also have a Fender Jazz 71(alder+ rosewood like the Pensa) and although both are jazz basses , I have to say they have a very different character . Comparisons with mid price modern fenders o similar are not logical , price tags are different but also quality is also very different . I hope all this helps .
