I've e-mailed and called time and time again, so anyone know where he's at and if he's still doing Darkstars?

I tried for a month and a half to give them a chunk of money and never heard from them. I guess business is so good that he doesn't want more.

Try giving him a call now. My DS is coming tomorrow. It took a little over 2 months.

How did you contact him? I just called when I read your post-nothing. I can look in my sent box and find 20+ emails with no answer. I can't count all the phone calls.

I've left two messages in the last two weeks and now his machine is full. If his business is that good I'm glad, but it's sure hard on a brother who builds basses using him pickup.

I bought mine through Landing Guitars. Jimmy is a dealer and is in regular contact with Fred. James Wilson
    Jimmy's customer service is phenomenal.

Any news on this? Darkstars are all gone now?

  11. He's pulled a Howard Hughes.

No official announcement, no communication, just ... stopped ...

I think he's moved to Sweden, taken on the name "Freda", and is working very hard on a project to reunite ABBA.

My theory is that Fred has been recruited by DARPA, and his work has been classified. A few military drone aircraft have been spotted with Darkstar-like pickups on the underside.

Jimmy's a great guy...last I heard, he gave up on the reliability of Fred Hammon to fulfill his orders...I own one of his customs; a Telecaster, (guitar) shaped, 30" scale, with a single Darkstar...
