I just listened to Commoner's Crown and there's some stunning bass work all over that album. If anyone knows what kind of gear he uses on that album I'd really love to know!

That he is! Consider that he was the whole rhythm section for their first albums until they got a drummer.

I’ve never owned any of their records but I always liked hearing them. But, then, I DO like British folk rock.

I guess I need to revisit them!

I have a bunch of their LPs from way back in the last century. I've only seen Steeleye Span once, in 1973 when they opened for Procol Harum at a local college gym.

I finally got to see them in 2006 when BLOODY MEN was released. it was at the Ark in Ann Arbor, MI. A great band in a great venue.

Recently discovered the album Stealin' Home by Ian Matthews - my GOD the bass tone is so FUNKY on it. LOVE IT!! It makes me want to play bass for another 10000 years.
