Any thoughts about that Fender Jazz Bass?

Hello everyone!

First of all, I am glad that I joined the forum today. I am from Greece and I have been playing the bass guitar for 4 years.

My cousin had that bass somewhere forgotten in the basement for a long time now and I am wondering if I can find some more details about it.
Unfortunately, the pickguard is removed as you can see.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I don't know much about Fenders (hopefully an expert will drop in) but the serial number places it as being made in Japan in 1994-1995.

Other than that, I can tell you it is a Jazz bass and it is in need of a good clean and new strings

Yes, these photos were taken before cleaning it and changing the strings.

I was surprised by its "okay" playing condition, even after all these years in the basement.
