Any thoughts on 2004 Squier Precision?

I've not seen it yet, but I'm talking to a guy about buying his Squier Precision. He hasn't told me much about it other than it has 3 pick-ups, has hardly been played and is tobacco sunburst. I like the price...assuming it sounds/plays decently.

I assume by 3 pups he means it's a P & J combo.

I saw a review online that suggested there were quality issues with Precisions of that year. Apparently they are Indonesian.

Any experiences particularly with that year/model?

I know there are a million threads on Squiers and P's and all that. i'm trying to get specifically to 2004 model.

I doubt its an affinity, I may be wrong but I don't think there was an affinity PJ. HArd to say about a specific squier, they run from very nice to garbage. I for one wouldn't commit to a squier sight unseen unless the price is really knock your socks off good. Just to much chance that its one of the crappy ones.

No doubt about that. I wouldn't even if the price were great. I don't to buy a bass that needs a lot of work.

But I want to know enough to see whether or not it's worth making the trip out to see the bass. There is no shortage of Squier P's out there.
