Any tips for finding and running a band IN COLLEGE?

Error #1: Thinking you NEED a half stack. Sell it, and get yourself a 1x12 combo. THEN you'll be prepared to play most college venues. Playing too loud will get you fired faster than anything else, other than showing up late.

Well, at the moment I have a 300 watt 1x15 combo, and my half stack is back at home. I figured I'd take the half stack up when I found a gigging band for practice and for gigs with no PA.

Not to mention, I move around a lot on stage (in my previous band, and plan to in whatever else I do), so with the combo and no monitors, I have issues with stage volume when I'm not right in front of the thing.
