Who can tell about this pedal more and personally? How does it interact with your other stuff? I need to know because of GAS ...

SolidgoldFX Beta? Fantastic low to mid gain pedal with huge bottom end and very musical through the mids. After trying all of the usual similar suspects like Barbershop, Blueberry, SFT, etc. it was my favorite but of course that's a taste thing. I just liked the deeper, punchier sound it has over the others. It's not a transparent drive, and it's not high gain, and it's not a fuzz. It sounds like tubes, so if you like tubes you'll like the Beta![]()

I like this post -- not because I agree (I haven't even tried the Beta), but because mmbongo has tried all the usual suspects (as he says) including the Beta.
Plus, he emphasizes that preference is subjective: depends on the tone you're looking for. Plus, so much depends on what gear you have... f'r instance, some pedals don't play very well with active basses (I have no idea whether applies to the Beta), and as noted the Beta has huge bottom, which might not be the best choice if you want to add sizzle to a bottom-heavy rig.
All my basses are active, but I lower the signal level down with my compressor before going to my other pedals so the inputs don't clip, then jack it back up with a preamp pedal at the end.
I am curious how this compares to a b3k, I like what I've heard on yt.
For the Jazz bass players, where are you putting it in your signal chain?
