Double Bass Any Zeta owners out there?

I own a Zeta Educator. I never dealt with their customer service and know that they are now out of business. When I purchased the bass without the stand. First thing I noticed was that the bass was impossible to play without having it spin. I tried tucking the bout into my belt but that didn't work. I tried attaching a bass strap to the bout which, worked for awhile and is still a viable option. Finally I bought one of those swimming pool foam spaghetti floats, cut it down to size , sliced it down the middle, and stuck that on the bout, and that works and is what I'm going with for now. The stand that used to come as an option for the bass would probably be the best choice, and not look so dumb. The bass sounds to me like an oversized P bass. Unless you have the desire to play an unusual looking bass, I would go with a fretless electric. If I were to purchase another EUB, I would go with an Eminence, which I heard on youtube, and it sounded great.

I've had a Zeta Educator for a number of years. Put a sheepskin (fake) pad intended for a crutch on the bout. Also had a friend make me an oak bout extension to replace the plexi one. I've used it for jazz and blues with great results. Spirocore Weich strings gave it a better sound. Use a lighting truss bag for a case.
