Any Zoom G3 users?

That's the G3 for guitar. I know lot's of folks here play guitar as well, so I'm wondering if anyone here has tried the Zoom G3 for recording. I've been using using a Digitech GNX 1 that I've had for years but it's starting to get a bit unreliable. Plus, I've never been crazy about most of the overdriven/distorted guitar tones that it offers.

I checked out some demo's on You Tube and while some were "okay" others sounded pretty good. Just want to know what your experiences with the G3 are for recording...or do you know of someone else who uses one for recording and what their take on it is? Or do you recommend something else for guitar tones?

My recording setup is real simple. I use the Zoom B3 for my bass going straight into my Tascam DP-02 8 track recorder. I did the same with my Digitech. (Can't afford to go the full blown computer recording route.)

I have both B3 and G3 set up for recording bass/guitar parts into my Zoom R24.
The G3 suits my requirements perfectly! (As does the B3 btw.)
I'm no guitar player, I just want to be able to put enough sound down to "complete" my demos.
There is SO much scope for adjustability in these units that you're a fussy musician if you can't find a decent (to your ears) sound for recording in there somewhere!

could you guys tell me if the g3 without any amp or cab simulator , only effects, sounds good for bass or shape your tone like a guitar?

Since this thread got revived, and then died again..
I'll tell you. Yes it shapes your tone like a guitar. A little. Sounds kinda wrong distorted, but most bass distortion sounds that way to me.. and I play metal as often as anything.
That said..
Xlr out and it records bass stuff pretty darned nice.. cab sim, no cab sim, wierd chorus, all - works with a well represented low end. Did it last Thursday and play bass thru headphones with it every day.
Most channels will seem a bit crispy for bass use tho. Good for Baritone.
Recommend? Not so much, but it'll do it
