Double Bass Anybody doubling with Line6 HX Stomp?

I planning to buy an HX Stomp, for effecting my Electric (mostly for octaver, dly, reverb, chorus...), but in many of may gigs I doubling my active 6 string with my upright equipped Wilson K1 PU, and I don’t want to carry my EDB2 pre if not necessarily....
So my question is:
Is HX Stomp is good for go both instruments in, set gain levels, Eq maybe fx settings for both, and go to my amp, and mute the one instrument what actually not playing...?

I've done this in the past. What you need to do it use the effects return as the input for your electric and use the variable impedance of the main in for your upright. You can use snapshots or different presets for each instrument, both will work fine depending on your workflow. Sound quality was pretty good. I had no issues, although I know some purists would never think of running their bass through any sort of AD/DA conversions. Truth is with most of the high end modeling stuff available today that if you can't get a great sound, it ain't the gear. There might be ways to get a great that are easier and faster to dial in, but if you spend the time with the modeling side, you will be rewarding with great tone and unparalleled flexibility.

I used to have Line6 HD500, sounds very good, and HX has even better modeling and conversion...
Do you think also possible, to plug eletric to the left input and DB to the right, and summing to mono output? I know there are varius paralel routing opions in the HX....

You could do that. I believe you need to have a block on both path A and B, and then use the mixer set to 100% Left and 100% Right, respectively. I'm not sure if you'll lost the impedance matching capability though. I don't know how that works with two instruments with drastically different needs. Are you planning on having something in the effects loop?

Maybe, maybe sometimes I will use my Superego in the effect loop...not sure...
You saying, plug the electric to the fx loop, is better solution than Y routing?

I’ve bought HX stomp last month and now I’m doubling with it. There is a lot of possibilities in this little unit, every day I’m learning something new. Even if I’m playing only double bass I’m bringing HX and using IR from 3SigmaAudio which makes sound of my Realist Lifeline much better, more acoustic (opinion from other musicians and club owner). Still trying to understand how to get best results for doubling, because now I use EBS Microbass II to plug both electric and upright and than send the signal to HX.
I think that main question is: are you that kind of guy who’s patient and likes tutorials and spending some time to find the solution? If yes - you’ll like HX a lot. If not - don’t bother.

:) Yeah, I’m pretty much I kind of guy, who don’t afraid to spend hours with the tutorials to find the best solution. Currently I doubling trough my two channel Headway preamp...But I like using effects for my electric and rarely for DB, I know this unit has a lot of options, and I always experimenting, to carry as minimal gear as possible, when leaving the house....:hyper:
