Anybody ever been on TV?

July 4th 1976. Our small town of 200 had a Bicentennial parade and for some reason I still don't understand the local CBS affiliate that was over 100 miles away was there filming it. I was on the 10 o'clock news that night for all of about 2 seconds smacking away on my marching snare drum in our junior high marching band. "Go Mustangs"

Many times. Advice? Make sure you understand the tech set-up in advance. I've done everything from "everything direct to the board" live broacast services to "set up your PA and we'll mic the room". If it's the latter, make sure you can send a vocal feed to their board. That has saved the day a couple times.

For you elders, I was on the joe franklin show. They said bring gear so you can play and we just wound up sitting and listening to a single or two.
Main advice, act like you normally, do , be yourself.

Played with a band in 1968 on a show promoting local talent, and again around 1976 for another similar show with a different band. I think the second time was live on the air if I remember correctly. Both times were in the studio.

Taped a song with a songwriter a couple if years ago, just the two of us, but they didn't air the performance, only the interview with him. Oh well.

I was never particularly nervous. Just being myself. Not fond of doing it, though. Also did a couple of radio shows.

In about 1990 most of my band (all but the drummer) attended a protest which got a little rowdy. Since we were the ones running around in silly costumes, blowing party tooters and distributing balloons and leaflets, we were the ones who got arrested. TV news got hold of a video of us performing in the same costumes and ran that with the story.

Unfortunately, the guitarist was obsessed with the Illuminati and the costumes were purple hooded robes with faux-mystical emblems. But people are stupid, so after that we were known as the KKK band, no matter how much we tried to explain.

I was also briefly on the small screen disguised as the Grim Reaper on a protest, that was fun.

Yes there will! My band opened for Pauly Shore when he was doing a college tour back around 93 maybe? his normal opening band (spin doctors) truck broke down in Jersey and our bassist was a DJ at the college station, and we played that town a LOT.
Anyhow, big stage, pro sound and lights and MTV crew did makeup on us, my singer was trying to fight it but finally gave in.
We got to be on MTV for about 45 seconds I think.....

He really liked us and offered to help shop a demo, but we broke up shortly thereafter.
It’s all good, we were party hair metal and the scene was doing a major shift then.....
