Anybody have a Kill-Switch in their bass(es)?

I put a toggle on/off switch in place of both vol. pots on my peavey.

Not got any proper killswitches fitted, but have played around with those kind of effects on my les paul (guitar, not bass) by using the pup selector switch with one of the pups set to zero volume.... trying to play Rage Against The Machine covers and whatnot.

Not sure I'd bother on the bass, but do quite fancy a proper killswitch on the guitars, cos it ain't good for the pup switches to use them that much.

Yes, mine are all in pickguards, I had to drill a tiny hole (about 1/4") through the pickguard, and simply mounted it, soldered the wires and put it back together.

In my case, 2 guitars are Strat style, and one is SG. In all, I mounted the switch about 2" below the bridge pup, so I can rest the heel of my hand on the back of the bridge, and tap away.

Only one of my basses has a pickguard, so if I decide to, 2 of them will be drilled through the wood.

My G&L L2K has one since I don't use the preamp (I leave out the battery). The preamp on positions of the last swith act as a mute switch

That's interesting, I myself am not a big fan of active (for my style), and tore out and replaced the electronics in my fretless to have VVT, and it's truly never sounded better, have you ever used it as an effect in a song/solo?

Geez, you just taught me something here...I never realized that my SG (style) could do that, ...silly bunt I am.

I don't play that one often (that's a good excuse right?) So now it has 2 Kill factors.
