Anybody have had any experience with Luna basses?

I was looking for cheap basses with P configuration, and i found this one:

I really liked the look, actually is the best looking bass with P configuration ive found, i dont know anything about it, tried to find some sound clips and didnt find anything, no one has reviews of it, so thats why i came here to ask you guy who know more than me.
the only thing i found about them is that Luna, used to be a brand for womens, but now they make basses for anyone and that they are light weight.

what'd you prefer, this or an SX? what would be better?

It's unlikely that you'll get an SX that light, or a P bass from them with a 1.5 nut width. They do have those new purple and pink basses that have the narrower neck. Hard to tell what the body on the Luna might be made of since it doesn't specify. Overall I would say that SX is the better brand in general. Nicer woods. IMO, the Luna bass looks a bit cheap. The SX's look more expensive for the money.

The strings look rather close together, unless the body is larger than it seems in that pic.

Luna is owned by Dean Guitars. They are marketed as "girls" basses because they are smaller and lighter than "regular" basses. That explains the funky colors. They make some nice looking basses though, if you can get past the "bass for girls" marketing.

I would say it's not mahogany. Mahogany isn't particularly light. It's probably some kind of basswood or poplar that is stained mahogany colored. I haven't seen anywhere except on this Ebay page that says it's any particular kind of wood. But that's all right. Nothing wrong with basswood or poplar. Both are decent wood for making a bass.

anthonymcfadden could you compare this to a Squier or a MIM Fender with the fender PU ?

I look after this bass because it is lightweight, but I need a decent sound for giging ....
