Anybody stopped using their Sansamp?

I am in the middle of selling off my VTBass in favor of a programmable BDDI, so I guess I'm in that rare camp. The BDDI I had before the VT just had a more organic tone to it and I never once had an issue with scooped mids. I have to wonder how many are aware that by turning either/both the BASS or Treble down a smidge, it boosts the mids on the BDDI...it's like having a parametric with 2 knobs instead of a thousand sliders. At least that's how I view it. I'm sure at least three quarters of the Tech21 camp will disagree with me when I say that the BDDI and PDDI both sound alot more authentic in copping that naturally compressed tube tone that the VT, but that's just what my ears hear. I tried selling myself on the VT the whole time I've owned it, but it wasn't long after I swapped out my BDDI for it that I felt like I was missing the residual joy of the epiphany I had when I first tried the Bass Driver. Even after I sold it and got my VT, the BDDI was always the best $200 I ever spent on gear. Glad to be coming back home to it.

I was very enthusiastic to get VT bass and after some time i found that completely overlapped my Ashdown eq.Now i am use it for some records but it is good pedal though.I have and MXR also and i think that it is way better for my needs.

I've tried the VT bass and liked it, but not enough for selling my PBDDI, I like the bass driver, and as you say turning down the bass and treble gives you more mids. To obtain more OD in the style of the the VT bass I use the Bad Monkey in front of my PBDDI. I will never get rid of my PBDDI !!

Used the BDDI into the mixer through headphones for band rehearsals in our basement for 5 years (never gigged with this band) the found a new band and I got my MarkBass rig and took the BDDI off the board.......got a DHA instead but only used it occasionally depending on songs.........bought another rig (GK MBF500 with Tots) and didn't use either the BDDI or the DHA but decided to make a second board for home practice and put the BDDI on it and it warms up the GK quite nicely but only use it occasionally.....I have my DHA on my no. 1 board again

My main rig for a few years was an RBI in to the FX loop of a Markbass SD800. The RBI was a miracle with that amp, especially with a P bass. The SD800 was nice on it's own, but didn't have enough balls for me. I think the limiters built in to the older Markbass amps really took away the low end depth. Kind of a dry/flat amp too. Which is not always bad, but it did not work for the band I was in.

I've gone all Aguilar now, and that gives me a hefty tone all by itself. I still have the RBI, and plan on keeping it around for recording purposes. Might pick up a VT for funs and giggles.

My PBDDI is the most used pedal in my setup - with my setting #1 giving a very subtle very slight edge to my sound and adding a slight compressing effect. Perfect for digging in just a bit.

99% of the time I play with full PA support and a DI so my amp is just for monitoring - learning to know how my bass and my effects translate in a mix took me quite a few years (and still learning).

"that's a crazy big pedalboard but it's amazing how you do your own volume rides and how you blend in a mix - that way I can focus on other things in a mix" is problably one of the best compliments a sound guy can give me.

The longer I have my SansAmp, the more I get to appreciate it. The only thing I find really hard is the really fine line between "a defined, clear sound"and "harsh, trebly, ear-piercing".

I go back and forth CONSTANTLY. Evenstarted a thread about it...

I use it as a nice D.I. still, and occasionally I like to put it into the fx loop.and BLEND it in.. Or with crappy amps/emergencies

I don't think I would ever sell it because it definitely has some useful features ( not to mention I got it used, and its to beat to all hell ) , but I think the secret is to stop trying to use it too much; use it when you need it, and not because you feel like you would like to need it

This! The darn thing comes and goes like a bad penny. I won't offload it since it does come in handy. But, when it gets used 'too much', away it goes . . .

Drat! Now I feel like I should go buy it again!

Do like me and never sell it ;)
I've the PBDDI, one channel is sett on the "SVT settings", one on a "B15 settings" and the third channel is sett on minimum blend, all the rest on 12.
I've mentioned it earlier, but put something like a Bad Monkey in front of the BDDI and you get back more mids and more drive. I never use the drive on the BDDI higher then on 13 as it gets too fuzzy and metallic.

Well I finally have stopped using my VT bass pedal...I loved it so much that I went and bought a brand new Ampeg SVT classic, now I have the real thing, but if I didn't, I would never get rid of the VT! I just got the VT v2 on fathers day, so it is brand new, but as soon as I herd it I knew I had to have the real deal!
