Anybody Using a Behringer Para EQ #2200?

Just curious. I have a shot at one locally for cheap. I prefer used but I'm not seeing much pop up on TB or E-bay.

I am one of those "depends on what it is" guys when it comes to Behringer. I have used a wide variety of their products, with varying results.

Their EQ's are my least favorite type of product.

I know two TalkBass members who have used the PEQ-2200 in their bass rigs (Eli and Lonnybass). AFAIK, they've been very happy with them.

I have limited experience with Behringer PA gear and it has always treated me well.

IIRC, the PEQ-2200 was about $100 (street) when Behringer made them. Used they should be an even better bargain!

I appreciate your candor. I've used Behringer in the past solely on availability and price including a PA board and rack-mount compressor. In other words, the components were already in place or were all I could find. I need a decent 3-5 band para EQ but the selection has been poor lately.

I'm pretty happy with mine. Got it for $79 when GC was blowing them out after they were discountinued by Behringer. It's been in my rack for several years now and has never acted up. I switch a couple of bands in and out -- mostly #2 at 250 Hz (boost or cut to fix room acoustics) and #3 at around 900 Hz (boost for fretless mwah). Both on wide band.

I have run into QC problems with a few Behringer products, but all of the ones I own seem to be holding up pretty well.

I have a Tube T-1951 across my FX loop on my Ampeg B2. Warms up the SS amp nicely. Never had a problem with it yet.

Thanks, eli. I made the commitment and picked it up on the way home. Well under $50 and in pristine condition so I can't complain. Problem is that I'll be running it with a Behringer board which does not have a main insert. Bummer! Per instructions, you're supposed to run all processors through Aux 4 and go from there. I've already got an ancient Sonic Maximizer in the signal chain and somebody gave me a Digitech Studio Twin (reverbs, delays, etc). May end up sounding like hell but multi-colored LEDs will give the rack a festive holiday appearance (thank you Martha Stewart).

Oh, heck, for under $50 you can hardly go wrong anyway. Are you using it for PA or for bass? Mine is just for my bass.

Its for the PA. The Demeter HBP-1 already has two very effective para EQ bands. We need to do some minor tweaking but I really don't need a 31 band EQ. Don't have a spectrum analyzer but I do have a good ear and know how to sweep the bands.
