Anyone else working through Jeff Berlins Bass Mastery, package #1?

I’m on package 1 lesson 20 now. I know playing the etudes in all 12 keys is beneficial but when do you start doing this? Package 2?

Any time you feel like it.

Whether it’s an etude in a book, a song you're learning for gigs or just transcriptions of phrases you picked up from a recording, playing it in all 12 keys helps cement the sound of it in your ears. It also forces you to work on alternative fingerings which is always a good thing.

Devil's Advocate: Playing it in all 12 keys helps cement the sequential intervallic content of it in your ears. But heaven forfend if you have perfect pitch, because then it will completely eff up the sound of it in your ears!

Correct me if I am wrong but IMO playing it in 12 keys makes you think of the notes rather than the exact pitch. The position of the next note(scale degree) in relation to the tonic or the sorrounding notes, if that makes sense.
