Anyone familiar with Chris Sorenson?

he plays bass for a band call Saosin.

i was watching their DVD that came along with their new album last night. in my opinion his tone on the live rehearsals that they do on there is absolutely sick.

is anyone here familiar with him/ what he's currently using or how to get close to that sound?
its the sound i've been chasing for a year now and being a guitar player originally i just cant seem to pin point it because my bass tone knowledge is still limited.

i meant to talk to him about it the other night when they were in town but didn't want to bug him about it while fans were around.

any help would be great thanks...

I love his tone but he's a pretty average bass player if you ask me. But I guess technical prowess isn't something you'd expect from Saosin :P

He's endorsed by Fender so I took a look there and this is what I found on his bio.

So basically, a lot of Fender gear. fender P-bass, Fender TB-1200 Head and Fender 810 PRO cab.

Mind you, his bio doesn't appear to have been updated to include the new album so he MAY have changed endorsement deals or gear since then. But I think its safe to assume for their debut album, he used the above gear.

Hope that helps :)
