Double Bass Anyone gigging the Acoustic Image Upshot?

I have the AI Upshot & Clarus SL-R. I totally love this amp. I play in a couple of small groups without drums and it’s perfect. And as everyone says it is great with my electric too.

I’m just curious if anyone is using this or has everyone moved onto the Doubleshot? Also is anyone using it with 2 Upshot speakers?

I'm using a single Upshot for almost all of my gigs these days. I've used it up to loud sextets and it usually does fine. My bandmates have really loved it for the most part as well, as they can hear me better than with more forward-directional speakers. Usually if I'm playing in a big enough room to need more power, there is a PA I can go into as well. I keep some louder speakers around in case I need them, but I rarely do. Also, being able to load my whole rig into a backpack is pretty nice.

Yes. I'm in NYC and often subway to gigs. Upshot and tc bam 200 fit in a bookbag backpack and handle pretty much any jazz situation. A friend sat in on his six string electric last night and he didn't rock the room, but was clearly audible with the low B clear and tight.

I've been using it for a couple of years now and it's been great. I haven't played electric through it but all my string bass stuff has worked out very well, mostly duos and smaller venues but I have had to push it a few times and it has been fine. The doubleshot is tempting but I don't feel that I really need it and the one-trip load-in is truly appreciated.

I had the exact same set up and it worked fine in quiet settings.
Ultimately I moved on to something more versatile at a different price point.

How does it do out of doors? Winery gigs, etc.

I'll admit that I've been hesitant to use it outside, so I've brought other speakers to those gigs. Even very high ceilings have some effect on the sound. I have something coming up outside where I might bring it along with another speaker to give it a try. I think there will be a PA though, so it probably won't be that informative.

You can put it on a chair facing forward. Works well like that.
