So for Christmas I picked up a few pedals, and after seeing my Digitech BSW was ripping through 9V batteries for breakfast I needed power supplies. At the store, the guy talked me in to a 1-Spot power supply plus a 1-Spot daisy chain to power my other pedals. I've never heard of 1-Spot before but since the 30 bucks I had to pay was better than the 120+ bucks for a VD Labs or a DC brick considering my pockets were dry from picking up a few pedals, I couldn't resist. However, he could not find a new power supply, so he gave me one that a customer had sold back to the store (so no packaging, manual, etc.). Since I buy used stuff all the time I figured why not. Everything worked fine until last night when I switched on my power strip and there was no power to any pedals. I tried plugging the power supply into one pedal by itself and nothing. I tested another outlet and as I plugged it in it made a electrical sound, almost like static-y. So I then (in anger and frustration) slapped the power supply around, plugged it back in (out of curiosity), and WALAH it worked. But after researching for a while I have yet to read about anyone having trouble with them, so am I the only one? LOL Thanks guys

Anyone Have 1-Spot Problems?

if the electrical sound was liek "peeewww" then this is a safety feature the 1-spot has when one connection is shorted it stops all power and resets itself.
Hmmm....I've never had any issues with it. I wish it could do 12v and 18v....but otherwise, it just plugs in and does its thing with my 9vs.

I haven't heard of this problem before, but if the problem went away after you hit it then there is a loose solder/wire connection inside, and it will only get worse over time. I would take that one back to the store right away and ask for an exchange, and even pay the difference for a brand new one.
Long term if you use the 1-Spot a lot with gigs it will wear down due to all the mismanagement of electronics at busy situations. The daisy-chain thing also introduces more noise. Otherwise they are excellent and cheap to replace, as well as available from most decent stores which is also a plus for me.
I had a One Spot die on me last year. I had it for a couple of years with no issues then one day it just stopped powering my pedals. I had been using it on five pedals with the daisy chain adapter and up to that point it had worked just fine. Replaced it with a new one and everything worked again.
30 bucks for a used one? At GC I got a new one with daisy chain for that much. I'd definately take it back if I were you.
Ya it was 20 for the power supply and 10 for the daisy chain attachment, although the guy did give me a few bucks off since it was used and no packaging.
Thanks for the advice, it's good to know that I'm not the only one having trouble but also I don't believe they should be faulty. Would be nice to have a VooDoo
