Anyone have only one bass?

Anyone have only one bass?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just got down to 12 ... I sold off a 5

For many years I only had one.

I was in the same boat a few years ago, I owned a Musicman Stingray, a Modulus 5 string, and a P-Bass. I decided to find the most versatile instrument I could and then I had a custom one built. I took the money from all 3 instruments and bought one amazing bass (Custom Jazz Bass). It means more to me and I've made it work in every situation. I do miss a 5-string every now and then but other then that I've been fine. I think our brains make us believe that one bass won't do a variety of styles of music, when actually if we just tweeked the amp a bit one bass would be fine for everything.

Just one here to. Tried some Id been kinda gassing for lately for 2nd bass possibility. And they just didnt do anything for me like my bass does, sound and playability wise. If I was gigging I think I'd simply get another Paulo warlock as backup. Maybe have expert luthier change the body from flat top with binding to bevelled edge no body binding. And shorten the two rear horns about 1 and half inches to make it like the shorter body of the 80's import warlocks and the early 90's american warlocks.

Now just to decide if I like the yellow neons on it as well as the green ones for color. Lol.

I had only a 1977 rickenbacker for about 10 years. i just had to plan carefully when to take it in for repairs and set-ups. and i got good at changing strings in a flash as once in a while the 'A' would break.
now i owe 2 basses: a P bass and an old music man. i play the P 99% of the time. the music man is my back-up.
but, i guess i wonder what's the point of selling one of your basses? you won;t get much for it and it's nice to have a back up.
having said that, i sold my ric because i stopped playing it and it hurt my feelings seeing it sit there unplayed.
