just been browsing the bay and came accross this

now now simmer down all you genuine rick owners not all of us can afford £1500 for a new bass this xmas but if i play my cards right and drop enough hints there's a strong chance my mrs might treat me to one instead of another shaving kit, some iron maiden socks and a novelty dashboard air freshener

so has anyone heard of or used one of these as i'm very tempted :smug:

I've never seen or played one before,...but if the neck has a truss rod,...I'd say it could be a very serviceable bass. The two humbuckers are just begging to be replaced with Delanos, although that might not get you anywhere close to the Ric sound. You'll have the aesthetic but probably not the tone.

Although this is a Chinese made bass,...a lot of quality Rikenfakers have come out of Japan over the years, so perhaps look into the MIJ Lawsuit era Rics as an alternative.

suits me ive never been a huge fan of the rick sound dont get me wrong i like it in other bands (geddy lee, foxton, lemmy etc)
its just not the tone for me and my band however rickys are without a doubt the sexiest bass's on the planet infact if the jack imput was bigger on them i'd probably dump my mrs and persue a sexual relationship with a 4003 mapleglo
