Anyone here played a Marco Marcustico bass?

last i checked it was over $5k, probably closer to $6k with shipping and import duty and a 12 month+ wait...

Guess I missed my window of opportunity on those. With a wait like that you can't blame him for raising prices though.

On his facebook forum, he runs a tight reign. He doesn't allow folks to advertise they are selling them or for folks to post WTB ads. He deletes them right away. Kind of rubs me the wrong way. I really like the guy who makes the benevolent basses. I'm not sure they sound quite as much like an upright but about 25% cheaper though and 6 month wait.

by the way, a year or so ago, I posted about marcustico and several posters said it just sounded like any-old fretless bass!

I've found a few videos online, and the sound is more like an upright bass than any bass guitar variation I've heard to this point. I might be interested in buying one, but they are difficult to find to try one out, and testimonials are scarce from those who have played them.

They are fantastic but $$$$ so I use this . Bought it used for $300 and the mute was $40. Very similar tone to the Marcustico, + a fully adjustable bridge. AND I can get a mwah sound w/o the mute.

Looks like it was designec by Salvador Dali but Dario sounds fantastic on his.
