Just wondering how to fix this....I recently built my computer, and I left a few wires unattached b/c I didn't know where they went.....now I'm confused. If anyone knows anything about computers let me know, I can tell you more about my setup.

Anyone know about computerS? It says "line in and mic in not plugged in"

Since the line in and mic jacks are built into the soundcard (unless you have some odd plate with plugin wires that attaches separately to the soundcard), it should just be an issue of redoing the cabling going into the card on the outside of the machine. Also, it is possible that the drivers for the soundcard/sound chipset didn't get installed properly, or that the line-in and mic jacks are muted in your audio controls.
If you could, please message me with the soundcard information (brand/model), and if possible pictures of the connections you've made to the back of the machine (close up shots preferred).
