Anyone know how to get this stain off an amp tolex?

believe it or not, this Ampeg BA210 combo is only about 2 months old. And already has that stain almost all tolex covered amps get... it's something that I've never had luck atcleaning up.. anyone have any tricks or ideads the best way to clean this?

That looks like dirt as apposed to fading.

First, take a conservative approach. Try a mild liquid hand soap such as Jergens in warm water. Rinse often as you clean. Be careful not to let too much water get into the tolex seams. It can dissolve the glue and lift the vinyl.

Odd that the stain flows the irregular cabinet shape.
If it is dust, probably not a good idea to cover the heat vent.
Spray 9 works pretty well as a gentle cleaner.
Simple Green is banned from my shop as it will stain aluminum; probably just fine on Tolex for a more aggressive cleaner.

I kept the information card on it fir a couple months before tearing it off

Seems more to me that the issue is that part of it is clean and doesn't match the rest that's developed a nice patina. Maybe the question shouldn't be how to clean the outer parts... but how to 2-month-relic the inside portion.

The amp is only two months old. It really does look like dirt.

It is remarkable how well an amp is preserved when a slip cover or case is used. Whenever I see a vintage amp in excellent condition, it has always been stored through the years with a cover on it.

Vacuum the dust off of it using a brush attachment. Use a little Simple Green to make sure it's clean. Hit the whole cab with Armor All protectant.
