Anyone know what kind of Precision this is

Hey all I have a made in Japan Fender mid 90s with Seymour Duncan's I think in it.
I have an idea what it is but my cousin asked me if I was interested in bass cause he doesn't play it. Not sure I want it but was looking for some info on it

I don't see the hamburglar, but that's definitely photo-flame on the back of the neck, fwiw (too symmetrical to be real).
Edit: Didn't look close enough, clearly visible in 2nd pic (depends on the angle, doesn't show in the other pics as well).

Thanks guys now I have to decide whether I want it or not. Lol. And yeah if I b low up pic I can Def see hamburglar. That is so dam funny. Are they good basses. I'm basically a spector guy with a couple of Franken jazzes

These are great basses, I would venture to guess that's a 1996 because it has the gold medallion logo that Fender used for the 50th anniversary of there company. Looks to be in good shape and a decent TKL case. If you can get it for $500 that would be a solid deal.

FYI the pickup looks to be dimarzio not duncan.

That looks to be in great shape. Most of the foto-flame finishes have cracked over the years.

I think it's a Fender Limited Edition 50th Anniversary with a swapped out neck. Those things DID not sell and when I worked at a shop then we had to do the same thing. It also could be a photo-flame. But that neck is from 1996 for sure.

Fender Foto-Flame was a series of flamed maple guitars and basses. That is why the neck and top are nicely flamed.

Haven't looked under neck yet. And yeah no scratches or cracks anywwhere. It's been stored in his cellar for 10 yrs. Lol

Google "hamburglar bass" and you should get a lot of info - AFAIK it is a photo under the finish, not the real wood - that's why the Hamburglar shows up so consistently

I have one, but I refinished it to surf green. The original color was red cherry sunburst.

Huh, really? I thought it was somehow sprayed or printed on. Just a transparent layer over the real wood with just the "flame"? Or does it actually cover up the original grain and replace it with the image? I mean, you can see the real grain through it, right?

Have have one (not Fender, SX, I think), but I've never taken it apart or anything.
