Double Bass Anyone know what strings these are?

These are poorly installed on a Kolstien Travel bass that I almost bought before I bought my new Standard Cleveland. They are crazy light. I kind of like them though but have no idea what they sound like with a bow, I currently have EP weichs on my bass, and thought If I could ID what these were maybe I’d try to find something between the tension of these and the EP’s.

I would check out what the Bluegrass players near you are using when it isn't gut. You won't have to cut through drums and horns as much, so the basic Spiro recommendation might not be the best.
Still, Spiro Weichs are a great all around string - it could be good to start there and form your opinions around that.

I’ll be honest, I’m really getting more into the classical side of things for my own discipline and enjoyment though I’ve been turned onto some amazing bluegrass music as well. My teacher is a symphony musician and all my lessons revolve around arco as does my daily practice routine, so the EP’s have been really good for that while still being able to learn bluegrass standards on the weekends with my kid on the side. I’d say my playing is about 80% arco/20% pizz right now. I’m fighting going down a rabbit whole with string temptations, but the slinkyness for lack of a better term of those kolstien strings just got me curious. I’ve read a lot about the Spiro’s being the default all around good string and may give those a shot in the near future.

If you are playing that much arco, Sprios will be fun. They are difficult when arco is secondary. The live harmonics and wider range of tone are a plus IF you are practicing arco. Plus, they cut pizz in a band setting. They are also the "standard" string, so working outward form them is probably the best way to go.

I’m about to bite the bullet and purchase some spiros, from what I read synthetic strings are typically larger in diameter than steels, you think I’ll have to have any nut work done to go from evah weich to spiro weich?
