Anyone know where I could find that Danelectro DC reissue fat mike uses?

I posted in the effects board too because I want as much help as I can get.

basically right now I play on an ibanez ATK300, a GK backline 600 and some matching GK cab (MBX 4x10 I think) I was just wondering where my change should be for that more fat sound I'm looking for

the band I'm playing in covers quite a few NOFX songs, and In general I'd just like my bass to sound that fat. I'd LOVE to try out the freaking danelectro reissue that fat mike uses, but I can't find one anywhere...

It doesn't have to be that exact color or anything, but I would do anything to try one.

Besides that, what would be a good bass for the sound too?

His tone isn't really that hard to mimic, I was able to do it on my stingray, jazz bass and my ric without any problem. I comes down more to the amp I think. I'm pretty sure he plays the classic tube Ampeg SVT and 810 cab.

Ebay and Craigslist.

I'm a HUGE Dano' fan(o'), and Ebay is the best bet for those.

With the DC, also search for '59 as well. I dunno if the '59 is EXACTLY the same as the DC... but it's close. I know some models have 2 pups, and some have just the neck pup, but i'm at a loss as to which is which.

Good luck! When they pop up they still don't go for much more than $250-$300 on the high end of the spectrum.

I'm willing to try just about anything haha

I do want to find that bass really bad though. I found one on ebay today, but the finish is horrendous, I wouldn't mind a putting my own finish on it though

Fat Mike played live for a couple of years with a G&L SB1 as you can see on youtube at Bizarre Festival. He also played with a black fender american precision deluxe with a humbuckers around 1998 1999. He now play with danelectro dc longhorn bass. I am 99% sure that he record with fender precision american standard. His live amp is an mesa boogie M-2000 !

Not sure if I am remembering this correctly, but I heard him in an interview a while back saying that the recordings are a Fender P and he uses the Danelctro cuz it's light and his back is messed up. When I saw them way back in '93 (ish) he had a P bass with the pickups held in with stickers....which kept falling out during the show!
