Anyone made a claim through Musicpro insurance?

I have all my gear insured through there. I know that the real test of an insurance company is when you try to file a claim. Quesions:

How was the claims process?

What proof, if any, do they demand that you owned an item if it was stolen?

How do they value the item? Is it actual replacement cost that they independently verify?

I have pictures and purchase receipts of all my items as "proof". Although in some cases, I got an unusually good deal on the gear and have insured it for more than I paid.

thanks

I haven't filed a claim with them, though I am a policy holder, but personally I would avoid putting anything in writing that says your actual value doesn't match your insurance record. That's exactly the kind of thing a company will use against you.

Your house burns down, you file a claim, they don't want to pay out so they hire a PI to look into you and he connects this account to your other social media and slaps this post down on the table as they deny your entire claim and threaten to sue you for fraud.

Also, I've always valued gear based on replacement value, not price paid. If your grandfather gave you a $10,000 guitar for free and someone steals it, you aren't out zero dollars because it was a gift, you're out the ten grand it would take to make you whole again.

You should ask THEM what proof they require. ;)

Insuring something for what it is worth is not fraud! What you pay for it does not really matter, one could inherit it, does not change its value!
