Anyone not like Shure.

As far as music companies go everyone in here has drastically different opinions on gear and brands. Some people hate certain brands, but I've never seen a thread where someone is pissed about Shure. Personally I've been doing this for 18 years and Shure has never let me down. I always can count on it and have never been unhappy with the money I spent on their products. Mostly mics and in ear monitors. But could this be the most widely respected music company?

Huh. But sounds like they stood by their product and just replaced it. So were you happy with the response and solution? Second question:do you still use it and how old is this one?

AKG as my 'favoured' company when it comes to certain things (especially headphones) but Shure have never let me down. I have a pair of SRH440s that are dodgy but I did mis-use them!

They make solid and reliable gear that works as intended with no surprises. What's not to love?

Yeah they did. I was satisfied. I mean, they replaced it for a price that wasn't bad considering both of them were out of warranty.

This third Beta 52 is now about 3 years old. It doesn't get as much use as the old ones did but it's still trucking along.

I have a well used, well worn, KSM 32 that's been to hell and back and has never complained once.

And every SM57 and SM58 I've ever used or owned will never ever die.

I've owned all of those but the beta. My new favorite is my 55. Love this mic, no one but me touches it. Lol. It sounds great, is a anvil and looks awesome. If I had one complaint it is the size. Can't see the crowd because it covers my whole face. Hence why I turn it sideways.

Shure have never let me down. I've only ever had one break, the cartridge snapped right off on a beta58 only a few months ago but it was probably over 10 years old and took a solid beating over the years. The mic stand got knocked over and the mic took the brunt of the fall face first. Went straight out and bought another - MMmmmmm brand new mic!!!!!!

I don't think they are nearly as active as they could be about taking down counterfeit product sales.

They participate in the ripping off of consumers in NZ by monopoly distribution agent, par for the course for music gear here.

I'd buy lots of real ones at the prices you pay in USA. Go Shure!

Quick story. I used to work at a music store. Preacher comes in to buy 6 wireless mics. My PA guy is selling him on some SM58 mics. This preacher comes back in for 5 days in a rwo asking all kinds of silly questions about reliability and specs that he honestly didn't understand. Finally my PA guy says "How about we make a deal? I'm going to throw this mic across the room and slam it against that wall over there. Then I'm going to walk over there and pick it up and say check one two. Then you are going to walk up front with me a ring up these stinking mics you have been bugging me about for 5 days. Deal?" Preacher agrees. PA guy literally FLINGS that mic up against the wall. Walks over and "Shure" enough it works great. All we had to do to the mic was screw another ball on it and it was perfect. The preacher even bought that one.

But, yeah, they are good stuff. Not the most amazing thing on Earth, but really good for the money. And road work horses. A good old SM58 and 57 ride in my gear box to every single show.

Ha Great sales pitch! They are workhorses! I own lots of stage mics including Neumann kms105 and I always find myself going back to the beta 58, it just suits my voice.

I own a 58 that I bought used 20 years ago that still works great. I use it probably 15-20 times a year. I have a beta 58 that Is my main mic for the last 5 years. I also own a PSM200 and 400 IEM. I bought both used. My drummer uses the 200 and I had to retire the 400 because it is in the restricted frequency range. I use shure ear buds with my audio-technical In ear monitor.
