Anyone painted their cabs/combos?

If you read my other thread, you'll know that yesterday, I got my first amp, a Fender BXR 100. Personally, I think it'd look badassingly amazing if it were white (maintaining the black grill cloth and amp). Has anyone refinished their cabs?

yup I painted some homemade cabs with truck spray liner . water proof and sweet texture

did you just cover the speakers/electrical parts/etc with newspaper and painters tape and stuff and then paint it, or did you have to disassemble it? Well, I guess I should just be asking if its a difficult operation.

When i get a 4x10 im painting the grill, its gunna say "Got Milk", cause i have a got milk fridge magent that i always used to put on my grill

Yes, I removed the component's.
No point using newspaper/tape if you can get around it.

I'm in the process of re-covering my 2x10 in baby blue tolex and a black cloth grill. It's a REAL pain taking off all the carpeting (rat fur), and sanding, but shouldn't be too hard to wrap the tolex around there. it's gonna look sweet. here's a link to the thread I've started on the project.

I covered my speakers and jack plate with plastic and painters tape - the SWR 2x10 I'm working on has a pretty complex wiring scheme - I opened her up and said NO WAY will I remember where all these things go.

I would be tempted to just build a whole new box out of light-weight ply. Then you could finish it anyway you want, not risk permanently damaging your old box, and maybe save a few pounds along the way!
